Professor Tse's lecture was titled “Boeing 737 Max Crashes and Corporate Market Value: An Empirical Analysis of the Global Aviation Ecosystem.” The research centers around the two Boeing 737 Max aviation accidents in 2018 (Lion Air crash) and 2019 (Ethiopian Airlines crash), using the event study method to explore the stock market responses of related companies. The research findings indicated that Boeing's supply chain partners and other companies within the aviation industry exhibited a significant negative reaction to the Lion Air crash. In contrast, the Ethiopian Airlines crash had a more significant negative effect on Boeing's supply chain and the broader aviation ecosystem. The research seeks to highlight the importance of aviation regulatory bodies and the aviation industry recognizing the systemic risks and cascading effects of aviation accidents by examining how these events affect corporate financial performance.

Following the presentation, both on-site and online students posed questions about the event study method, the acquisition and processing of relevant data, and the interpretation of research findings, based on Professor Tse's shared content. Professor Tse patiently answered the students' queries and participated in an in-depth exchange with them.
