The Fifteenth Session of Academic Forum of Excellence 2023 of the Business School for the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of the Business School and the MBA Education Center Successfully Organized
On the afternoon of June 28, 2023, the Business School held the Fifteenth Session of Academic Forum of Excellence 2023 of the lecture series of the Business School for the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of the Business School and the MBA Education Center in Conference Room 615 of the Main Teaching Building of the Xueyuan South Road Campus of Central University of Finance and Economics. This lecture featured Dr. Li Yilin, a lecturer from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University (Postdoctoral Fellow in Thought Leader), as the guest speaker. More than thirty people, including faculty, doctoral students, master students, and undergraduates, participated in this event.
The conference was hosted by Assistant Professor Zuo Yuhan from the Department of Organization and Human Resource Management at the Business School. Before the lecture officially began, Professor Zuo provided a detailed introduction to Dr. Li Yilin's credentials. Dr. Li Yilin is a Postdoctoral Fellow of Thought Leader in the Department of Management Science and Information Systems at the Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. She graduated from Tsinghua University in 2022 with a Ph.D. in Management. Dr. Li Yilin's primary research interests lie in social network evolution, machine behavior, algorithm governance, and green finance. She published an article in the MIS Quarterly in 2021 and has several working papers under review in journals such as Management Science and Decision Support Systems. She also has one algorithm patent under substantive examination. Dr. Li Yilin has engaged in collaborative research with enterprises, accumulating rich industry experience over the years. She has extensive technical development and research experience in areas such as deep learning, natural language processing, and social network analysis. She has also participated in the development of industrial-grade recommendation algorithms.
The topic of Dr. Li's lecture was "A Study of User Communities and Social Network Structures on Short Video Platforms." This research focuses on the organic whole formed by user-generated content (UGC) and online social interactions, where the production, distribution, and consumption of content are highly related to the user's social network. The research discusses the impact of user community structures on the content ecosystem of short video platforms from the perspectives of both content creators and consumers. It presents a model for effectively innovating and producing in the context of massive online information and explores the behavioral feedback mechanism of content consumers towards social recommendation algorithms. This research provides insights for areas such as Internet product design and organizational design powered by digital technology.
After the sharing session, the faculty and students engaged in an active discussion on topics such as research content and research design, thereby further deepening the academic exchange.
